Airstream Offering Classic Canyon Décor & E1 Package Power System Options For 2023 Touring Coaches
An all-new option for a “bright, airy” Classic Canyon interior décor is among several updates that Airstream recently announced for its touring coach lineup for the 2023 model year. The recreational vehicle manufacturer also provided details about an optional E1 Package power system upgrade, first announced in June, that’s available for its Class B motorhomes based on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans.
Tour The Canyon
Airstream touring coaches include the 24-foot (7.3-meter) Atlas, 19-ft (5.8-m) Interstate 19, 24-ft Interstate 24X, 24-ft Interstate 24GL, and 24-ft Interstate 24GT. The lineup also includes the 21-ft (6.4-m) European-inspired Rangeline, which is built on a RAM ProMaster 3500 chassis.
The Classic Canyon décor joins the manufacturer’s previously available Modern Greige, Formal Black, and Tommy Bahama Special Edition offerings. Airstream says compared to the warm, earthy tones of the Modern Greige and the bold, dark style of the Formal Black, Classic Canyon has a spacious, light, and inviting feel that features a fresh, modern color palette. Classic Canyon components include Field Elm cabinets, Papyrus Ultraleather, Venaro White solid-surface countertops, and Frosted Mink flooring.
Feel The Power
The all-new E1 Package power system brings together a 12-kilowatt-hour lithium battery pack from Volta Power Systems with a Timberline 2.0 hydronic single-fuel-source heating and hot water system. Airstream says the E1 Package provides up to 10X more battery power than the standard configuration for its Mercedes-Benz motorhomes. Additionally, because the Timberline system uses the same diesel fuel as the engine, no liquid propane is required.
Other components include a 1,000-watt single-burner induction cook top, a 3,200-W pure sine wave inverter, two 30-amp DC-DC converters with 12-volt continuous power, a secondary 51-volt 6900-W alternator, a Victron 100-20 solar charge controller, and two external solar ports that together provide 600 W of solar power. The package benefits owners in a number of ways, giving them the ability to run the air conditioner, appliances, outlets, and more off-grid and obviating the need for LP tank refills. The secondary alternator, meanwhile, allows for charging the house batteries just by driving the motorhome; the system can recharge them to a 30% recharge while driving 20 minutes, and restore them to a full charge by driving for two hours.
