Ember Details 3 Customer-Driven 2027 Floor Plans Ahead Of Hershey Debuts
Ember Recreational Vehicles will publicly debut three new 2027 floor plans at America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania, Sept. 16-20, each developed around a distinct customer request: a larger tandem-axle version of Ember’s popular no-slide 190MSL, a more compact couples-focused Touring Edition, and a uniquely flexible bunkhouse designed to adapt as owners’ needs change.
The new Overland Series 220MSL, Touring Edition 2100RKL, and Touring Edition 2850DBL will make their public debuts with Beckley’s RVs in Booth A4. They are part of Ember’s broader 2027 product lineup, which incorporates dozens of owner and dealer-driven refinements across the company’s travel trailer portfolio.
Overland Series 220MSL: A Bigger Answer To The 190MSL
The new Overland Series 220MSL was developed in direct response to one of the most consistent requests Ember has received since introducing the 190MSL in 2022: build a larger tandem-axle version while retaining its no-slide simplicity and flexible EmberTrack rear interior.
The 220MSL pairs tandem CURT independent suspension with a residential queen Murphy bed, expanded cargo capacity, and Ember’s reconfigurable EmberTrack rear storage and sleeping system. Its no-slide design provides additional living and storage space while maintaining the capability and flexibility customers expect from the Overland Series.
“Since we introduced the 190MSL three years ago, customers have consistently asked us for a larger, tandem axle, non-slide version without giving up the EmberTrack flexibility,” said Chris Barth, Ember founder, VP and COO. “The 220MSL is our answer. We’re excited to debut it at Hershey in front of many of the same customers who have been asking us to build it.”
Touring Edition 2100RKL: Touring Luxury In A More Compact Package
The new Touring Edition 2100RKL becomes the most compact floor plan in Ember’s luxury Touring Edition lineup.
Designed for couples seeking premium features in an easier-to-tow package, the 2100RKL features a spacious rear kitchen with extensive solid-surface countertop space, caravan windows, Atlas automatic leveling and stabilization, Ember’s exclusive EmberFlex Dinesk, and the popular Bar-V window.
The goal was straightforward: create a more manageable Touring Edition without removing the comfort, finish, and features that distinguish the product line.
“The 2100RKL gives customers who want a shorter, lighter Touring Edition a legitimate choice without asking them to step down from the Touring experience,” Barth said. “It packages a tremendous amount of kitchen space, livability, and functionality into a size that will appeal to our discerning Touring customers.”
Touring Edition 2850DBL: A Bunkhouse Designed To Change With The Trip
The new Touring Edition 2850DBL is one of the most customer-influenced floor plans Ember has developed to date. Ember utilized its Facebook groups to gather direct feedback about the design, and the crowdsourcing details were clear. Rather than designing the rear of the coach around a single permanent use, Ember uniquely incorporated its reconfigurable EmberTrack® bunk, desk, and storage system to allow owners to adapt the space for children, guests, cargo, work, pets, or changing travel needs.
The 2850DBL also incorporates Ember’s EmberFlex Dinesk and Bar-V serving window in the main living area, along with the premium construction, suspension, and off-grid capability of the Touring Edition.
“We’ve found, again and again, that today’s customers don’t use their RV the same way on every trip,” Barth said. “Sometimes the kids are along. Sometimes they aren’t. Sometimes that space needs to carry e-bikes or kayaks, become an office, or simply provide more room for pets or gear. We heard that repeatedly from customers, and the 2850DBL used crowdsourcing to design around that reality.”
Built Around How Customers Actually Camp
The three new floor plans reflect Ember’s broader approach to product development: continuously adapting its products around how owners actually use their RVs rather than reserving meaningful improvements for traditional redesign cycles.
“Customer expectations continue to evolve and so do the ways people use their RVs,” said Ashley Bontrager Lehman, Ember founder, president, and CEO. “Our job is to keep listening. These three floor plans are very different from one another, but they share the same starting point with a clearly identified customer need and an opportunity to build a better RV solution.”
Visitors to America’s Largest RV Show can tour the new 220MSL, 2100RKL, and 2850DBL alongside additional 2027 Ember models from Sept. 16-20 in Booth A4 with Beckley’s RVs. Ember factory representatives will be on-site throughout the show to answer questions and demonstrate the products.
Additional 2027 product introductions and updates will continue during Ember’s New Product Expo in Bristol, Indiana.
