Go Off The Grid With Keystone RV’s Cougar OTG Solar Package
Keystone RV Company, which recently announced a turnkey solar system for its Montana Luxury fifth wheels, continues to make it easy for its customers to add solar power with the Cougar OTG solar package. Keystone RV designed its 2020 Cougar trailers (available as mid-profile fifth-wheel trailers, half-ton fifth wheels, and travel trailers) with standard roof-mounted, dual-port access and inverter prep so the trailers are ready for solar power. Buyers just select the optional Cougar OTG solar package for factory installation of the solar panels and other solar system components.
Built With Zamp Components
When customers select the Cougar OTG solar package, the Cougar trailer will include a 170-watt Zamp Solar roof-mounted solar panel (expandable up to 510 watts), a 30-amp Zamp charging system, a 1,200-watt pure sine inverter, and power to the three invested outlets inside the trailer, located in the bedroom, kitchen, and the living room. Keystone RV points out that Zamp uses locally sourced materials with solar panels and sub-components handcrafted in Bend, Oregon.
System Benefits
Keystone designed the system to expand to meet power demands, including support for an additional 30-amp solar charging system and another 1,200-watt inverter. Whatever you select, the solar charging will help to minimize the need to plug the Cougar into shore power to recharge the batteries. The additional power allows Cougar trailer owners to boondock off the grid for a weekend, or even longer if necessary. With sustainable solar power, owners can also reduce or eliminate generators sounds and smells.
