A Classic Up Close: The Airstream Globetrotter
Airstream’s Globetrotter travel trailer has provided generations of families with a towable home away from home ever since the original 22-foot model debuted in the late 1940s. Today this iconic, domed classic with its shiny silver exterior remains a favorite of ramblers everywhere and is available in lengths of 23, 25, 27, and 30 feet, with eight floor plan options and four choices of interior décor. Each model features DuPont Corian countertops, stainless-steel appliances, climate control, LG LED HDTVs with Blu-Ray that run on 110-volt batteries, and a Fusion touchscreen stereo with Wi-Fi, Apple AirPlay, and Bluetooth connectivity.
About The Trailers
The 23-foot Globetrotter comes with 12 windows and skylights to provide ample natural light and stunning views. A powered awning and stabilizer jacks come standard. Inside, travelers have the option of either a queen bed or two twin beds to sleep two adults, while the convertible dinette can sleep two children. A full rear-spanning bathroom comes standard with either bedroom choice. Optional amenities include a convection microwave in place of the gas oven (available on all models) and a 90-watt rooftop solar panel to keep the onboard batteries charged.
In 25-foot models, the dinette moves to the back with the restroom and shower just outside the bedroom in the front. Like the 27-foot and 30-foot Globetrotters, the 25-foot trailer’s optional add-ons include two rooftop solar panels for a total of 180 watts and a second air conditioner with heat pumps. The 27- and 30-foot models come standard with a traditional microwave and gas oven. If a convection microwave is chosen instead, it will replace the oven and the space where the traditional microwave would have been becomes additional storage. The 30-foot trailer also has a wraparound lounge, convertible dinette, a rear bedroom, and 22 windows throughout the cabin for plenty of natural light.
