Keystone RV’s Super SolarFlex Is A Turnkey Solar System For Montana Luxury Fifth Wheels

In an effort to simplify compatibility and optimize solar power technology for RVs, Keystone RV Company recently introduced its Super SolarFlex system as an option for all its Montana fifth wheels. The turnkey system features factory-installed components that power every outlet, every appliance—everything that requires electricity. Keystone also points out that the SolarFlex system includes a Coleman-Mach Powersaver A/C with soft-start, as air-conditioner startup is often a substantial hurdle for aftermarket RV solar systems.

SolarFlex Components

Super SolarFlex offers Keystone Montana customers fully warrantied, UL-listed components and RVIA code-compliant installation. The system features Jaboni Power Products solar panels that support more than 1,000 watts of solar collection, as well as 60 amps of MPPT (Maximum Power Point Tracking) technology to maximize energy collection from the solar array. Keystone Montana fifth wheels with the system also boast two best-in-class lithium-ion batteries that provide up to 510 combined amp hours of storage. To power every electrical outlet and appliance, the Montana is built with dual 50-amp pass-through transfer switches, which deliver power regardless of the available energy source.

Load Management & Security

Keystone equips Super SolarFlex with Precision Circuits’ Energy Management System that prevents inverter overload by monitoring the system’s energy consumption and temporarily disabling non-critical circuits. Additional protection is provided by Precision Circuits’ Battery Guardian technology that disables 12V circuits until adequate battery charge is available. Montana RV owners can also use the VictronConnect smartphone app for real-time monitoring of the system’s battery load.

The Coleman-Mach Powersaver A/C

Keystone’s engineering teamed up with Airxcel to design a soft-start air conditioner for Super SolarFlex. The company says the air conditioner is the only UL-listed soft-start system on the market today. The Coleman-Mach Powersaver series also delivers maximum cooling and is said to use up to 40% less energy than conventional RV air conditioners.
