2011 Gulf Stream Sold In 3 Weeks With RVUniverse & AuctionTime
After trying three RVUniverse competitors and getting no good results, Sheila Rozeboom felt more than ready to get her Class C motorhome sold. She reached out to RVUniverse and spoke with sales representative Jared Coffey, who told her the surest way of selling her 2011 Gulf Stream Coach Conquest 6200 was through a no-reserve sale on sister brand AuctionTime.
“When I signed up for assistance from the auction house, my RV had been on the market for over 60 days with no serious inquiries,” Rozeboom recalls. “Jared said I would be guaranteed a sale, so I decided to go this route.”
“She told us she had already spent a lot of money on advertising and couldn’t afford any more fees,” Coffey says, “so we listed her on AuctionTime and got the piece moved quickly.” Sellers who put their RVs up for consignment on AuctionTime don’t pay anything up front, as the auctioneer deducts all fees before issuing them a final check.
A Long List Of Features
Rozeboom’s Conquest 6268 had a 2007 Sprinter 3500 chassis that Gulf Stream Coach converted in 2011. The RV had a Mercedes-Benz 3.0-liter diesel engine with just 23,600 miles, plus a transmission option to switch from automatic to manual shifting to take advantage of engine braking.
Rich with amenities, the Gulf Stream camper had a slide-out, an over-the-cab bunk, and a shower, as well as a toilet, furnace, and two TVs. In the galley was a 3-burner range with an oven, a microwave, and a refrigerator/freezer. Other selling points included a relatively new awning, a generator, and a new roof vent fan and bathroom skylight.
“She said she had been looking to sell it for a long time,” Coffey recounts. “After being listed on three different sites for over two months at auction value, and with no activity, she was now just trying to get rid of it as soon as she could.”
Last Chance Auction
Coffey connected Rozeboom with Last Chance Auction of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, to consign her RV. AuctionTime auctioneers handle all aspects of a sale, including taking photos, posting them online, taking bidder calls and questions, and handling the payment from the winning bidder. Coffey reported that the auctioneer did a great job of communicating with everyone involved.
“Last Chance Auction contacted me and picked up the vehicle,” Rozeboom says. “They were easy to work with. Of course, as soon as I signed the paperwork making Last Chance the exclusive seller, I received multiple ‘decent’ offers,” from people who had seen her previous ads. “Insert eye roll here!” she laughs.
Down To The Final Minutes
“When the auction went live, it was slow going, but the bids kept increasing by baby steps,” says Rozeboom. “At this point, I was just hoping to get the equivalent of my best offer to date.”
Besides its exposure on AuctionTime.com, her Gulf Stream Conquest also appeared as an auction listing at the top of potential buyer search results on RVUniverse.com. This automatic cross-marketing stokes interest among retail shoppers who might not have considered buying an RV on an online auction before.
“The final day of the auction, I logged in to watch,” Rozeboom says. “The bids had been slowing on the past couple of days. But the last five minutes, the bids started coming in pretty rapidly.
“When time ran out, the auction was actually extended because multiple bidders were still actively bidding on it,” she recollects. “The price increased by several thousand dollars during this time, and it was very exciting to watch!”
A Happy Ending
Rozeboom’s Gulf Stream motorhome was sold on July 2, 2025, for $29,000, just under its Value Insight Portal (VIP) auction value.
“In the end, my camper sold for more than any offer I had received as a result of listing with multiple (non-Sandhills) industry publications,” she says. “And it sold within three or so weeks of contacting Jared. I'm so happy I tripped across his info.”
“I would say it’s more importantly about how she had submitted an RVUniverse listing, and that I found a route for her with AuctionTime,” says Coffey. “She was able to sell her RV through us fast and for what she was asking.”
‘On To Other Adventures’
“It's such a relief to have it sold!” Rozeboom says. “It's also a little melancholy, as I have many, many wonderful memories because of that fun little rig. I am going to miss it, that's for certain, but it is time to move on to other adventures.
“Thanks, Jared, and Last Chance auctions. I'm very appreciative and would recommend this process to anyone looking to buy or sell their RV,” she says. “Thanks a million!”
