About Fifth-Wheel Toy Haulers
Fifth-wheel toy haulers are towable RVs with a garage for ATVs, motorcycles, jet skis, and more. Unlike travel trailer toy haulers, which have a bumper pull/tongue pull tow mechanism, fifth-wheel toy haulers have a gooseneck with a kingpin that fits into the fifth-wheel hitch of the tow vehicle. Both types are quite different from and more common than a self-propelled motorhome toy hauler, which of course requires no tow vehicle.

Features
Recently built fifth-wheel toy haulers are typically in the 32- to 46-foot (9.75- to 14-meter) range of lengths with either tandem or tridem axles. It’s quite common for trailers in this category to have two or three slide-outs for additional living space. They generally sleep 7 to 9 people, assuming that some will bunk in the (often uninsulated) garage area.
The ample amount of space in a fifth-wheel toy hauler’s garage offers plenty of room for bikes, kayaks, and many other types of toys you can enjoy at your destination. The garage floor area varies considerably, often overlapping with the forward living space as a sort of rec room or multipurpose room.
Many fifth wheelers’ garages have a door that doubles as a ramp to load and unload small vehicles. Others have a ramp that is separate from the garage door, which may be of the roll-up type. Note that some garages include one or more pull-down beds, so the space can double as a spare bedroom when it’s unloaded.
