Keystone RV recently announced some major upgrades to its Raptor toy hauler line, including a bed-to-bar garage conversion, a wraparound sofa built for 10, and the new Raptor 431 and Raptor 424 floor plans.
The Biggest Raptor
Keystone says the 44.9-foot (13.7-meter) Raptor 431 is its biggest toy hauler yet and boasts more living space and storage space. The extra length allowed the company to change up the camp-side slide layout by pulling the recliners forward and almost tripling the size of the pantry. The new setup provides a better cross-conversational layout with the recliners nested into the L-shaped sofa. For entertainment, the toy hauler is equipped with a large flatscreen TV and a new Kicker audio system with two amplifiers, 8-inch upgraded speakers, and a subwoofer. The RV also has a Girard on-demand water heater and a factory-installed SolarFlex solar power system that’s available with optional Dragonfly Energy lithium-ion batteries.
The 431 is one of three Raptor floor plans for 2023 that has an east-to-west bed slide, which opens the nose for a large wardrobe and frees garage space by moving the washer and dryer hookups to the front. The new RV also has the longest garage of any of the Raptors at 13.5 ft (4.1 m) in length. Owners can add the optional Long Haul Package, which includes a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS), iN-Command Smart RV control system, Furrion side cameras with a 7-inch screen, an onboard air compressor, and a 50-amp electric cord reel.
“In 2021-22, the toy hauler segment moved to shorter models and emphasized the garage as a flexible living space. As we look to 2023, we wanted to build a brawny but livable model for the traditional toy hauler buyer and power sports enthusiast,” says Keystone RV Product Manager Colin Clark. “Everything about the 431 is beefed up and ready for owners to go big with their toys and their crew. Higher-end buyers are likely to be more resilient to shifts in the economy. For that reason, we expect the 431 to be a valuable addition to dealer inventory this year.”
The Raptor 424
The Raptor 424 takes elements from the popular Raptor 423 and adds 6 inches (152 millimeters) in length and increased bedroom storage. The main bedroom has an east-to-west king bed slide, a full front closet with washer and dryer prep to free up garage space, and a built-in dresser. The main bathroom offers four full drawers, a lower cabinet, two medicine cabinets, and a full linen closet. The 13-ft (3.9-m) garage hauls motor sports vehicles and can double as sleeping space with the built-in HappiJac system or as increased living space.
The living and kitchen area features Thomas Payne cross-conversational reclining seating with views of the campsite when the elevator TV is down. The entertainment center also has an electric fireplace. The U-shaped kitchen offers abundant storage and counter space with a three-burner cooktop, convection microwave, and a 16.5-cubic-foot (467-liter), 12-volt refrigerator.
