    About Toterhomes

Amateur and professional race car drivers, bands and musicians, athletes, and others who frequently travel for extended periods and may want or need to take their race cars, motorcycles, ATVs, instruments and equipment, or other gear with them are the kinds of folks who appreciate toterhomes. Sometimes referred to as “towable motorhomes” or “supersized RV toy haulers,” toterhomes are built on a modified Volvo, Freightliner, or other brand of heavy-duty semi-truck chassis and incorporate what resembles a Class A or Class C RV behind the cab that offers sleeping and living space for multiple people. This pairs with the vehicle’s high-horsepower truck engine and ability to tow a semi-trailer, which itself is often customized with additional living space and/or outfitted to haul multiple automobiles in a stacked configuration along with tools and equipment in a garage-like toy hauler design. Toterhomes are generally among the most expensive RVs for sale, and may be driven in many states without a special license depending on how they’re used.

2019 Renegade RV Classic Sportdeck CS150 Toterhome

Buyers will find models available in several general configurations, including a traditional toterhome design that includes about 15 feet or so of living space directly behind the cab, as well as a fifth-wheel hitch for hauling a trailer. Another configuration type includes one or two hydraulic slide-outs to provide additional living and sleeping space, while yet another type features a customized toy hauler-like trailer, often with a matching exterior design that provides even more storage and living area. Depending on the model, toterhomes may sleep 10 or more people and can come with such features as air conditioning and heating, interior and exterior entertainment and communications systems, full-size bathrooms and showers, complete kitchens, lounge areas, heated tile flooring, multiple water tanks (white, gray, and black), generators, keyless door entry, rearview and side cameras, satellite systems, LED lighting, security safes, and more.
