Founded in 1988, Dutchmen RV celebrated its 35th anniversary in 2023. The company is owned by Keystone RV, which claims to be the top manufacturer of towable RVs in North America. Dutchmen RV became part of the Thor Industries family of companies in 1991 when Thor Industries acquired Keystone RV.

Wade Thompson and Peter Orthwein founded Thor Industries in 1980 by purchasing Airstream, another of the company’s leading RV brands, along with Jayco, Thor Motor Coach, and Tiffin Motorhomes.
