    Description

2001 Winnebago Journey DL 36LD Diesel Pusher CAT 330HP • Allison 6-Speed • 50,809 Miles • Runs & Drives • No-Reserve Auction This Winnebago Journey DL, Model WKP36LD, is a very solid diesel pusher with only 50,809 miles. It is built on a Freightliner custom chassis and powered by the desirable Caterpillar 7.2L turbocharged diesel, rated at approximately 330 HP and 860 lb-ft of torque, paired with an Allison 3000MH 6-speed automatic transmission. It is also equipped with air brakes, air suspension/air bags, grade braking, and exhaust braking. For someone looking for an affordable diesel pusher with a proven drivetrain, good interior, operational generator and slides, and relatively low mileage, there is a lot of motorhome here. SALE / AUCTION PROCESS We are Reliable Rides Utah, an RV dealership based in Salt Lake City, Utah. We acquire RVs throughout the United States from a variety of sources, including insurance, dealer, wholesale, and liquidation channels. Rather than fully retail-reconditioning every unit we purchase, we occasionally offer solid units like this one directly to the public at a reduced pre-auction price or through AuctionTime. Our process with this motorhome is simple: It is first being offered for sale on RVUniverse at the listed pre-auction price for a limited period of time. If someone purchases it before the scheduled auction date, it is theirs and it will not proceed to auction. If it is not purchased beforehand, it will move to AuctionTime and be sold in a true NO-RESERVE auction. The AuctionTime bidding will start at just $250. There is no reserve and no hidden minimum selling price. The highest bidder when the auction closes will win the motorhome, regardless of the final bid amount. Depending on where you are reading this listing: If you are viewing it on RVUniverse: The motorhome is still available to purchase at the advertised pre-auction price before it goes to auction. If you are viewing it on AuctionTime: The pre-auction purchase opportunity has passed and the motorhome is now being sold to the highest bidder with no reserve. We regularly use AuctionTime for select RVs and other inventory. You can copy and paste the link below to view our Reliable Rides Utah AuctionTime profile, including current and upcoming auctions: SALVAGE TITLE / DAMAGE DISCLOSURE This motorhome has a salvage title due to the rear-side exterior damage shown clearly in the photos. The affected exterior pieces/covers are present inside the motorhome, but they will need to be repaired and/or properly mounted back into place. The important distinction is that the title branding is associated with the exterior body damage, not a known engine, transmission, chassis, or drivability failure. On an older diesel motorhome, exterior body components, specialty panels, paint matching, and professional RV body-shop labor can become expensive very quickly relative to the insurance value of the coach. Because of this, an insurance company can determine that a motorhome is a total loss even when the underlying drivetrain and coach remain usable. We have intentionally left the damaged area visible and photographed it clearly rather than attempting to conceal or disguise it. Please review the photographs closely so you can evaluate the damage and determine how you would like to repair it. MECHANICAL CONDITION The motorhome starts, runs, and drives with no issues observed during our use. We also inspected the basic fluids: Engine oil looks good, with no visible metal or abnormal particles observed. Transmission fluid looks good. Engine starts and runs properly. Transmission operated properly during our driving. Air system builds and operates as expected during use. With only 50,809 miles, this is relatively low mileage for a Caterpillar-powered diesel pusher of this type. One of the biggest advantages of a coach like this is the drivetrain combination: Caterpillar diesel + Allison transmission + Freightliner chassis. These were built to cover substantial mileage, making the current mileage particularly appealing for someone looking for an older diesel coach without extremely high miles. SYSTEMS WE PERSONALLY CONFIRMED We personally confirmed the following: Slide-outs are operational Generator is operational Refrigerator powers on Microwave powers on We did not personally test every individual appliance, plumbing component, electrical circuit, HVAC component, or other coach system. We were told that the remaining systems are operational and work as expected, but buyers/bidders should understand that those additional systems have not been independently verified by us. We encourage buyers to use the photos, description, and any available inspection opportunity to evaluate the motorhome according to their own expectations. INTERIOR CONDITION The interior is one of the stronger points of this coach. As shown in the photographs, the woodwork and cabinetry remain in very good condition for the age of the motorhome and appear to have been well cared for. The furniture is still largely original and is also in good overall condition. It has the particularly desirable opposing-couch living-room layout, which gives the main living area a spacious and comfortable feel and provides considerably more seating than many comparable floorplans. The coach does not present like an RV that has simply been neglected or abused. The cabinetry, furnishings, and overall interior condition tell a much better story than you might expect from simply seeing the salvage-title designation. For someone willing to address the exterior damage, the interior provides a very good foundation without requiring a complete renovation just to make the coach usable and comfortable. ROOF The roof is in great condition for the year, which is an important consideration on any older motorhome. Please review the detailed roof photographs included with the listing to evaluate its current condition for yourself. CHASSIS / POWERTRAIN Engine: Caterpillar 7.2L Turbocharged Diesel Horsepower: Approximately 330 HP Torque: Approximately 860 lb-ft Transmission: Allison 3000MH 6-Speed Automatic Chassis: Freightliner Custom Chassis Brakes: Air Brakes Suspension: Air Suspension / Air Bags Braking Assistance: Exhaust Brake / Grade Braking Mileage: 50,809 Miles Model: WKP36LD Length: Approximately 36' 5" Weight: Approximately 26,350 lbs OVERALL We are not representing this as a perfect or fully reconditioned motorhome. The rear exterior damage is present and will require attention, and there are coach systems that we have not personally tested. What it does offer is a very compelling foundation: 50,809 miles. Caterpillar diesel power. Allison 6-speed transmission. Freightliner chassis. Runs and drives properly during our testing. Operational generator. Operational slide-outs. Good roof. Well-kept cabinetry and interior. Desirable opposing-couch floorplan. For someone comfortable repairing the rear cosmetic/body damage—or someone who simply wants a capable diesel pusher without paying retail pricing for a cosmetically perfect coach—there is a substantial amount of motorhome here. Whether the goal is cross-country travel, extended trips, seasonal use, full-time RVing, or staying closer to home, this is a substantial diesel coach with a proven drivetrain and relatively low mileage. PRE-AUCTION BUYERS If you are seeing this on RVUniverse and want the motorhome at the advertised price, purchase it before the scheduled AuctionTime date. Once it moves to AuctionTime, the pre-auction price is no longer the deciding factor. AUCTIONTIME BIDDERS If you are seeing this on AuctionTime, there is no reserve. Bidding starts at $250, and when the auction closes, the highest bidder wins regardless of the final bid amount. Please review all photographs, disclosures, and available information carefully and purchase or bid according to the motorhome's current condition.
