Take Control Of Your RV With Winnebago Connect
Winnebago recently launched its Winnebago Connect smart technology platform, which lets you control your RV’s onboard systems through the Winnebago App on your smartphone or tablet. Winnebago Connect allows you to wirelessly control the cabin’s locks, air conditioning, lights, and other devices, as well as monitor water and battery levels, run diagnostics, request remote service, and more.
Winnebago Connect is initially available in the RV maker’s new 24T and 24 R floor plans for its View and Navion Class C motorhomes.
“Winnebago Connect is game-changing technology for the RV industry and the community of RV owners,” says Kim Weckert, vice president of digital transformation for Winnebago. “Winnebago Connect is the culmination of years of hard work and dedication to deliver next-generation conveniences to our customers. It’s exciting to be at the vanguard of this effort, which is sure to create a new standard for the entire RV industry.”
Control Your RV Systems
With the level of control Winnebago Connect gives you, you can command the vast majority of your RV’s systems from your mobile device. For example, when you’re heading out from your RV, you can lock the cabin door remotely and set the air conditioning to cool down the interior before you return. If you need to leave your pet behind in the motorhome, you can make sure the HVAC system is keeping them safe and comfortable.
Winnebago Connect lets you turn lights on or off with one click and adjust their brightness level and color. You can also make preset groups of lights to control them simultaneously, so you can (for example) dim the TV area for movie time, turn on bedroom and bathroom lights in the morning, or turn off all the lights at bedtime without leaving the bed.
RV Automation
Winnebago Connect also works proactively to automatically retract the awning when it’s too windy outside and maintain a specified interior temperature by opening or closing vents before resorting to air conditioning. In cold weather, a low-temperature alert can prompt you to turn on the heating system to keep the water lines from freezing.
You can also set Winnebago Connect to shut off unneeded electrical devices, such as the tank heater, to stretch your energy budget. The system’s battery and water level monitors can show you how much time is left before they run out at the current usage level. If an onboard system has a problem, the software can notify you on your mobile device. The app can also help you prepare the RV before a trip with tutorials and checklists of things to do, such as topping off the freshwater tank.
Free & Premium Winnebago Connect Plans
Winnebago Connect is available in free and paid tiers with optional features such as remote support and software updates from Winnebago. A Premium subscription plan lets you control your RV systems from anywhere you have a cell phone signal, as opposed to the free Essentials plan’s local control within Bluetooth range. A top-tier plan comes with access to high-speed Wi-Fi suitable for movie streaming and video calls.
