Spring is nearly here, and RVers are planning their warm-weather getaways. The Thor Motor Coach Sanctuary is a terrific option for those seeking a luxurious, compact Class B motorhome with the versatility to travel paved roads in style en route to national parks and to tackle rougher terrain to reach retreats that are remoter and therefore a bit more exclusive.

About The Thor Motor Coach Sanctuary

Thor showed off the Sanctuary 19A floor plan at the recent 2024 Florida RV SuperShow, but four other configurations are available. Vehicle lengths range from 19.7 to 24.4 feet (6 to 7.4 meters), and weights range from 9,050 to 11,030 pounds (4,105 to 5,003 kilograms).

Each floor plan sleeps one or two, though different bed options are available. The 19A has an expanding sleeper sofa that deploys to 70 by 70 inches (178 by 178 centimeters).

Depending on the floor plan, Thor builds the Sanctuary on either an all-wheel-drive Mercedes-Benz 2500 Sprinter van or a 4x4 3500 Sprinter. All models include a 2,000-watt solar panel charging system and a Re(Li)able power pack electrical system with a 3,000-W pure sine inverter/charger and a 170-amp charging alternator to support your boondocking and camping excursions.

Built For Adventure

The Sanctuary is ready to support day and nighttime outdoor activities with components such as a 5,000-lb (2,268-kg) hitch to haul your gear in a small trailer. Various Thule accessories are also on tap, including a roof ladder to do some stargazing, an optional rear door bike rack to tote mountain bikes, a top-mount LED light bar to help set up camp at night, and a model-specific powered patio awning with LED lighting to relax beneath at day’s end.

To make reaching remote destinations easier, owners can equip their Sanctuary with optional off-road tires. They also have four exterior full-body paint color choices, including the ruggedly handsome Tenorite Grey.

Truly A Sanctuary

After hiking or mountain biking all day, you can look forward to returning to an RV interior designed for comfortable downtime. The 19A configuration has a wet bath, drawers, and wardrobe storage at the rear for freshening up and a Winegard ConnecT 2.0 4G/Wi-Fi antenna for streaming a movie on the living area’s flip-down TV afterward.

For prepping and cooking meals, the 19A’s kitchen has a 12-volt refrigerator, a portable single-burner induction cooktop, a microwave, a stainless steel sink, and solid-surface countertops. If you prefer to eat outdoors, there’s a fold-out exterior table.
