Ember Recreational Vehicles Goes Off-Road With New 240TKR Toy Hauler RV
Ember Recreational Vehicles took the wraps off the new Overland Series 240TKR toy hauler recreational vehicle at its annual New Product Expo in late September and gave an encore presentation at Overland Expo East 2023 in Arlington, Virginia. The company’s Overland Series RVs are designed for off-road and off-grid adventures; Ember says the 240TKR is the industry’s first fully reconfigurable, open garage gear hauler concept. The vehicle uses the manufacturer’s heavy-duty, off-road Trailblazer Chassis and has a Curt trailing-arm independent suspension and Ember’s patent-pending repositionable EmberTrack bunk/storage system.
“Current customers and interested buyers have been asking for an Ember toy hauler since the original introduction of our Overland Series in late 2021,” says Ember founder and COO Chris Barth. “Customers saw the overland potential provided by the Curt independent suspension and our off-grid solar upgrades coupled with the quality that Ember delivers, so we’re excited to introduce this new floor plan to our lineup.”
More Overland RVs
The Overland Series includes nine other floor plans available in single- and dual-axle configurations that range in length from 20.5 to 26.1 feet (6.2 to 7.9 meters) and can sleep from two to eight people.
Bed types include Murphy, front, double-bunk, and other options. The series’ Curt independent suspension has heavy-duty coil springs and dual shock absorbers on each side. Overland Series models also provide buyers with features such as off-road Goodyear Wrangler tires, an off-grid solar package, and a Stargazer European skylight.
The 240TKR Up Close
The 240TKR has a 90- by 72-inch (228.6- by 183-centimeter) rear ramp door that doubles as a deck in its lowered position. The vehicle’s open-concept gear garage allows for hauling everything from dirt bikes to motorcycles to golf carts. Travelers can use the included bunk platforms as storage shelving or desktop space. The front of the 240TKR includes the company’s patent-pending twin/king reconfigurable bed.
“The 240TKR not only has massively flexible gear storage and bunk space in the rear, but an extremely unique front bed setup with our brand new twin-king reconfigurable space,” says Barth. “I’m extremely proud of what the team designed and the versatility it offers. It will allow owners to set up their sleeping situation differently each trip since it can easily convert from a standard King-sized bed to two twin beds. It’s like a Swiss Army knife.”
