Ember RV Debuts 2024 Touring Edition 29MRS Travel Trailer At America’s Largest RV Show
Among the travel trailers Ember RV brought to America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pennsylvania, is one of the newest models in its Touring Edition lineup. The 2024 Touring Edition 29MRS, Ember’s most spacious floor plan in the series, debuted at the show held September 13 to 17, 2023. Three other Touring Edition and Ember Overland Series floor plans will also be on display.
“We’re super excited to debut the 29MRS at Hershey this year; it’s exactly the layout show-goers have been asking for,” says Chris Barth, Ember’s founder, COO, and head of product development. “Our customers will be able to see the luxury and Ember differences when they walk into this new floor plan, our largest offering yet.”
Ready For Touring
Ember’s luxury Touring Edition family features 10 floor plans ranging from 26 to 36 feet (7.9 to 11 meters) in length with couple’s coaches as well as bunkhouse layouts. Each has 55 gallons (208 liters) of freshwater capacity and the option to add an off-grid solar power system. Touring Edition models now have a new, more durable Next Gen chassis and a standard lane-changing assistance system, among other enhancements listed below.
“Touring Edition started with a focus on building a camping-correct travel trailer with higher-quality materials and better componentry, and the 29MRS is exceptionally good at showing what our team can design and build with intentionality,” says Barth.
The Touring Edition 29MRS
The 29MRS model Touring Edition has an overall length of 35.8 ft (10.9 m) and a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) of 9,495 pounds (4,307 kilograms). The couple’s coach has sleeping accommodations for two to four individuals.
The lockable front bedroom of the 29MRS has a Flex-Suite feature involving its Murphy bed with a residential 60- by 80-inch (152.4- by 203.2-centimeter) queen mattress. The stowaway bed, two removable tables, and a jackknife sofa can turn the private bedroom into office space or extra room as needed. (The new Touring Edition 29RS floor plan has a fixed, walk-around bed with the same mattress size.) The bedroom features a Stargazer skylight and washer/dryer prep in the wardrobe cabinet. All nightstand lower cabinets now come with USB and 120-volt power access.
The bathroom in the Touring Edition 29MRS, located amidships, has a 30- by 36-in. (76.2- by 91.4-cm) shower, a vanity, and a medicine cabinet. A 30,000-BTU furnace and a 15,000-BTU air conditioner provide climate control. The “whisper-quiet,” roof-mounted AC has dual ducts and a soft-start feature.
In the living area, a full-length, tri-fold, hide-a-bed rear sofa is flanked by two slide-outs. One slide contains a free-standing dining table and chairs set next to two theater-style seats, which directly face the 40-in. (101.6-cm) TV in the opposite slide. This slide-out has a built-in Bluetooth sound bar, an electric fireplace, and the galley with a subway-tile backsplash. A standalone island in the kitchen has a large double-basin stainless steel sink and a flip-up countertop for additional food preparation space. The kitchen includes a 10-cubic-foot (283-liter) refrigerator, a combination convection microwave and air fryer (a new standard feature in Touring Edition campers), a 3-burner cooktop, a 21-in. (53.3-cm) oven, and more.
Chassis & Construction
The tandem-axle Ember Touring Edition 29MRS is built on a Next-Gen, drop-frame, high-strength low-alloy (HSLA) chassis. It rides on Dexter torsion axles with self-adjusting electric brakes. The trailer’s 16-in. (406-mm) Goodyear Endurance LRE tires come with a standard tire pressure management system (TPMS).
The trailer has laminated Azdel Onboard walls, Ember’s Evermore composite flooring, and a 1-piece PVC roof with a lifetime warranty. Its Caravan dual-pane acrylic windows include integrated radiant barrier shades and screens to keep out insects when opened. The front of the 29MRS has more than 50 cu ft (1.42 cubic meters) of pass-through storage space.
Touring Edition Upgrades For 2024
In addition to the new 29MRS and 29RS floor plans, Ember has upgraded its 2024 Touring Edition luxury travel trailers in several ways. All now come with the exclusive CUB Lane Change Assist (LCA) system, which uses dual radar detectors and warning lights to help the tow vehicle driver make lane changes more safely. Other technological updates include preparation for StarLink satellite connectivity and the addition of a 50-amp Victron MPPT solar controller to the optional Off-Grid Solar package. Users can manage the solar package using the Emberlink smart RV control system.
In other enhancements, 2024 Touring Edition trailers are prepped for easy installation of protective slide toppers to keep out moisture and debris. The front hitch area has amber LED lighting for hitching and unhitching in low-light conditions, plus a standard aluminum box for storing LP, batteries, and tools. A new, standardized, whole-coach pressure regulation system ensures consistent water pressure throughout the camper. Other new amenities include durable Congoleum DiamondFlor flooring and a folding camping table stored in the ceiling of the pass-through storage space.
