Thor Motor Coach displayed the 38RB floor plan of its new Riviera Class A diesel motorhome at the 2023 Florida RV SuperShow that wrapped up January 22 in Tampa. The front-entry Riviera, which boasts a luxury design and ample creature comforts, was one of more than 90 toy haulers, Class B motorhomes, Super C motorhomes, and other recreational vehicles Thor brought to the show. The Riviera is powered by a Cummins ISB-XT 6.7-liter diesel engine that’s rated for 340 horsepower (250 kilowatts) and 700 pounds-foot (949 newton-meters) of torque. The RV includes a six-speed Allison MH-2500 automatic transmission and has a seven-pin round trailer hitch rated to pull up to 10,000 pounds (4,535 kilograms).
Step Inside
The Riviera’s 38RB configuration measures 38.9 feet (11.9 meters) long and can sleep up to six people. It includes theater seating and a king-size bed. The 39BH floor plan stretches 39.75 ft (12.11 m) long and includes a Dream Dinette with bunk beds, sleeping as many as eight. Both are built on a Freightliner XC-S straight-rail chassis with a MORyde Atlas foundation, an Air-Ride suspension, and Sachs shock absorbers.
Four exterior color schemes and four interior décor options are available. The exterior comes with such features as a 40-inch television with a Bluetooth-enabled soundbar, 130 cubic ft (3.7 cu m) of basement pass-through storage, and a powered patio awning with LED lighting. Customers can opt for a 50- or 39-inch LED smart television for the interior, which also includes a Winegard ConnecT 2.0 system that provides Wi-Fi, 4G hotspot, and TV antenna functionality. The bathroom has an Oxygenics shower head and a Shower Miser hot water recycling system, which Thor says can conserve fresh and gray water by up to 40% without changing tanks or adding weight.

Six other RVs that Thor showcased in Florida include the Tuscany 45BX diesel Class A, which provides a host of luxury features, and the Dazzle 2AB camper van that offers an optional retractable rooftop with SkyBunk sleeping area. The gas-powered Indigo BB35 Class A motorhome provides an exterior kitchen, while the Class B+ Gemini AWD 24KB has an all-wheel-drive system and AdvanceTrac with Roll Stability Control. The diesel Omni BT36 Super C boasts a powered sky view shade in the cab overhead, while the Sanctuary 19L Mercedes-Benz 4x4 Sprinter packs a Thule bike rack, a Re(Li)able power pack electrical system, and the Rapid Camp+ multiplex wiring control system.
