Tiffin Motorhomes’ Class A Zephyr Ups The Luxury Ante For 2022
Tiffin Motorhomes’ flagship Zephyr Class A motorhome is back for 2022, with even more premium amenities and a performance boost. Tiffin claims the 2022 Zephyr is packed with more features than any other motorhome the manufacturer has ever produced. A few examples of new standard features include quartz bedroom countertops, a 20,000-pound (9,071.8-kilogram) gross axle weight rating (GAWR) up front, and a new exterior paint scheme. New options include an outdoor kitchen, an InSinkErator instant hot water dispenser, and a waste elimination system with macerator pump.
Luxury Awaits
Tiffin Motorhomes says the Zephyr 45PZ floor plan provides maximum space, optimal organization, extra relaxation, and an elegant atmosphere. It comes equipped with four flat-screen TVs (including an exterior TV with sound bar), handcrafted cabinetry throughout, heated tile flooring, a residential refrigerator with optional beverage center, and a stacked washer and dryer. You’ll also find a dinette with a built-in computer workstation, a passenger-side ultra-leather sofa bed with lift TV, a driver-side ultra-leather air coil hide-a-bed, and a bedroom lift TV/fireplace. The bathroom boasts twin sinks, a shower with glass door and a skylight, and a laundry center with storage. There are also interior options for driver-side theater seating, a passenger-side recliner with lift TV/fireplace, and a Power Smart king-sized mattress in place of the standard king-size memory foam mattress.
New For 2022
For 2022, Tiffin introduced new innovations that impact most of its Class A, B, C, and Super C RVs, including the Zephyr. Chief among them is a a driver’s assistance package comprising several technologies built into the Zephyr’s custom PowerGlide Chassis, which has an independent front suspension and pairs with an Allison 4000 MH transmission and six aluminum wheels. The technologies include Adaptive Cruise Control, a collision-mitigation system, electronic stability control with roll stability support, and automatic traction control.
The motorhomes are compatible with the Spyder Multiplex control system, which allows for viewing water tank and propane tank levels, monitoring battery condition, controlling the slide-outs and LED lighting, and more. There’s also an available AquaView ShowerMiser system that lets users redirect cold shower water to the fresh water tank while waiting for the water to warm up rather than draining it to the grey water tank.
The Zephyr
The four slide-out Zephyr is an all-electric (no gas) coach, and uses an AquaHot Hydronic Heating system that provides continuous hot water. The motorhome is powered by a 605-horsepower (451-kilowatt) Cummins X15 diesel engine, and has a 150-gallon (568-liter) fuel tank. The Zephyr comes prepped for solar panel installation, and a 360-degree camera system connected to a cockpit display gives drivers excellent all-around visibility.
The motorhome’s wheelbase measures 316 inches (8,026 centimeters), its gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) is 54,000 lbs. (24,500 kg), and its pass-through basement provides 165 cubic feet (4.7 cubic meters) of storage. A total of 10 Generation 9 and Generation 10 paint schemes are available, and are applied using Tiffin’s eight-step full-body paint system.
