Fleetwood RV Updates Class A Bounder Motorhome With New Chassis & Instrument Panel For 2022

Fleetwood RV claims that its gas-powered Class A Fleetwood Bounder is “the greatest-selling RV of all time,” more than 35 years after its debut. For the 2022 model year, the company has updated the popular Bounder with several new features, including a new Ford Power Platform chassis. Other updates include an all-new electronic instrument panel that makes operating the rig even easier. The Bounder also includes an indoor fireplace, hardy waterproof Tarkett flooring, heated mirrors with built-in turn indicators and side cameras, and a WiFiRanger Sky4 connectivity system.

Bound For Travel

The 2022 Bounder is available in 35K, 33C, 36F, and 35GL floor plans that comfortably sleep up to seven people. The motorhome has two slide-outs, a fiberglass shower with glass door and skylight, a king-size Serenity memory foam mattress, an optional Hide-A-Loft drop-down queen-sized bunk with LED TV, and overhead CPAP storage and wardrobes in the bedroom. The RV also comes with TVs in the bedroom and living room.

Buyers can choose one of four exterior color schemes, and the RV’s exterior entertainment center includes an LED TV and Bluetooth sound bar. The exterior also provides an electric patio awning with LED lighting and a motion sensor and slide-out awning toppers. The RV’s electrical systems include surge protection, a 100-watt solar panel, a 2,000-watt inverter, and a 5.5-kilowatt generator with automatic start. A 25-gallon (94.6-liter) propane tank is included to power the appliances.

Specs & Stats

The new Bounder is powered by a 350-horsepower (260-kilowatt) 7.3-L Ford Triton V8 engine that’s mated with a six-speed automatic transmission with overdrive and a tow/haul mode. The Bounder can tow as much as 8,000 pounds (3,630 kilograms), and the powertrain delivers 468 pounds-foot (634.5 newton-meters) of torque at 3,000 rpm. The wheelbase is 208 inches (5,283 millimeters), and the Bounder measures 34.3 feet long by 8.5 ft wide by 12.8 ft high (10.5 by 2.6 by 3.9 meters). In addition to 123 cubic ft (3.5 cu m) of interior storage, there’s 160 cu ft (4.5 cu m) of basement storage.
