Airstream Classic Receives Power System Upgrades & New Décor Option For 2022

Airstream’s Classic travel trailer is receiving a host of feature improvements and new interior décor for model year 2022. Airstream Power Plus, a flexible solar power package, is standard on the 2022 Airstream Classic and provides a 270-watt factory solar package and two lithium iron phosphate (LiFeP04) batteries boasting 100 ampere hours. The 2022 Classic also includes new features for the Airstream Smart Control system, including a Power System Insights tool that lets owners check the onboard internal display (or an app on their smartphone) to see battery levels, solar harvest information, and shore power connection status.

New Interior Décor

The new Estate Brown interior is a departure from the minimalist Comfort White décor (which is also available on the 2022 Classic). Airstream says “Estate Brown conveys the warmth and peace you’ll find deep in the woods.” The interior features hardwood tones and Shaker-style cabinets, as well as the same woven vinyl flooring as the Comfort White option.

Technology Upgrades

The 2022 comes with the latest and greatest from Airstream, including a more efficient 1,000-watt power inverter, new A/C units, MERV 8 air filters, and an all-electric refrigerator. For better speed and performance with Wi-Fi, the 2022 Classic includes a 5GHz router that Airstream says provides a smoother experience in noisy Wi-Fi settings, such as busy campgrounds. The connectivity also allows the new Power Systems Insights tool to notify you when the onboard batteries are low to help avoid situations where you might run out of power.

2022 Updates For All Travel Trailers

Every 2022 Airstream travel trailer will feature QR code stickers in various places throughout the trailer to more quickly connect owners with Airstream’s online resources. From how-to videos to user manuals, Airstream travel trailer owners can use the QR codes to access the model-specific resources and even receive assistance from Airstream experts.
