Airstream’s touring coaches are built on a Mercedes-Benz Class B or B+ sprinter van chassis, and in addition to being a reliable chassis, Airstream is able to provide drivers with every safety upgrade available from the German automaker as a standard feature. As such, the following safety upgrades can be found on every 2020 Airstream touring coach.

Active Brake Assist

Active Brake Assist uses radar to gauge the distances to objects in the vehicle’s path and warns the driver of vehicles, pedestrians, and other oncoming dangers could be collision risks. If the driver fails to take action, a 2020 Airstream touring coach will initiate braking automatically. The responsive braking helps to avoid rear-end collisions, as well as mitigating the damage in the event of an accident.

Attention Assist

Attention Assist monitors driver behavior patterns for signs of fatigue and gives you an early warning to make sure you are not driving drowsy. The safety feature will also prompt you to take a break when it determines one might be helpful.

Active Distance Assist Distronic

With this feature and cruise control, the Airstream touring coach automatically slows down or speeds up based on traffic—keeping a safe distance from other vehicles while doing so. Drivers can set both the safe distance and the cruise control speed to customize the system.

Traffic Sign Assist

As you travel down the road, the Airstream touring coach will monitor speed limits and alert the driver so they can adjust as necessary.

Active Lane Keeping Assist

This system senses when the vehicle crosses over marked lines on the road without the turn signal being activated. From there, Active Lane Keeping Assist alerts the driver with a sound and visual reminder, as well as braking intervention to help bring the touring coach back into the lane.
