Airstream’s Nest Challenges Traditional Travel Trailer Design
For years travelers have put up with trailers that feature “shoddy construction, uncomfortable furniture that is molded into the fiberglass body of the trailer, and an incomprehensible use of space,” according to Airstream. To change the notion of what a travel trailer can be, Airstream designed the Nest. This modern design features a unique aerodynamic exterior, all-wood furniture, increased storage capacity, updates to the bathroom design, and higher-capacity fresh and black water tanks.
About The Nest
The 16-foot floor plan has a kitchen with a two-burner stove with integrated cover that folds down for extra prep space when not in use, a refrigerator with freezer compartment, a microwave, and a sink. The living area features stain-resistant seating, charging stations for mobile devices, and a two-person bed that comes in a choice of fixed bed or u-shaped dinette that converts into a bed. The trailer also features a wet bath, air-conditioning and heating, Bluetooth-controlled lighting, a sliding screen door, and a power awning with LED lights for a comfortable outdoor space.
