Airstream Highlights All-New 2020 Atlas Class B+ Van Featuring Mercedes-Benz 3500 Sprinter Chassis
Leading travel trailer and touring coach manufacturer Airstream recently detailed the numerous amenities and upgrades that its all-new 2020 Airstream Atlas motorhome has in store for buyers. Airstream boasts that the Atlas is the “most luxurious Class B+ van on the market today,” thanks at least in part to the Mercedes-Benz 3500 Sprinter chassis that serves as the RV’s foundation. Seating up to four and starting at roughly $238,000, the 2020 Atlas notably comes with no available options. “That’s right, all standard, no options,” the RV maker says.
“Luxury Condo On Wheels”
Described as a “24-foot, 9-inch” luxury condo on wheels,” the 2020 Atlas features an exterior with no visible seams or “unsightly” trim but with a “breathtaking” paint system and body styling; Airstream says it pours 100 man-hours into alone. Other exterior features include Alcoa rims, a Mercedes-Benz taillight system, Parktronic sensors and rear and side view cameras, and key fob-lockable storage compartments with motion-sensor lights. An outside shower connection and retractable water hose for waste tank cleaning is also included.
The interior, meanwhile, includes luxury woven flooring, ultra-leather seats, electric swivel chairs, an ultra-leather covered sofa, hideaway flat-screen television, Bose soundbar, reclining electronic seats, skylight, Murphy bed with Froli mattress system, and a Mercedes MBUX control system with 10.25-inch touchscreen display in the cockpit. Described as able to “satisfy most any chef,” the galley includes a stainless-steel sink, solid-surface countertops and storage compartments, a deep-storage compressor refrigerator with freezer below, and convection microwave. The lavatory, meanwhile, is described as putting “most apartment facilities to shame,” and includes a full-sized shower, cedar-lined wardrobes, cabinets, and sliding wood door.
