Back in early May, Thor Motor Coach unveiled its model year 2020 lineup of Class A motorhomes, Class C RVs, and toy haulers. Among the updates announced for all Thor 2020 Palazzo, Challenger, Axis, Aria, Windsport, Outlaw, Quantum, Tuscany, and Venetian models was the standard inclusion of the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 system that combines a 4G LTE router and a Wi-Fi extender for strong, secure internet connectivity. While the models include scads of other features, the following details concern the Venetian Class A diesel motorhome specifically.

Three Floor Plans

For 2020, Thor is making the Venetian available in three new floor plans that include the L40, R40, and B42. Ranging from $383,700 to $408,750, the models use a Freightliner XC-R Atlas Foundation chassis measuring 12.8 feet (3.9 meters) high internally. While the L40 and R40 measure 40.8 feet (12.4 meters) long and sleep seven and six to eight people, respectively, the B42 measures 41.8 feet (12.74 meters) and sleeps nine. All three include a six-speed Allison MH-300 automatic transmission and 8.9-liter Cummins ISL engine, which produces 380 horsepower and 1,150 pounds-foot of torque in the R40 and L40, and 400 horsepower and 1,250 pounds-foot of torque in the B42.

Other differences include a 150-gallon (568-liter) fuel tank for the L40 and R40 but a 100-gallon (379-liter) tank for the B42. Additionally, the L40 and R40 offer 221 cubic feet (6.3 cubic meters) of exterior storage to the B42’s 215 cubic feet (6.1 cubic meters). All three models are available in Arrowhead, Fox Hollow, Innsbruck, and Sanctuary III exterior color schemes and include the ability to monitor and control lights, slide doors, and other functions via a tablet or smartphone.

All the 2020 Venetian models include three LED HDTVs and a JBL sound bar with Bluetooth, as well as a 15-inch touchscreen AM/FM dash radio with Bluetooth, Garmin RV GPS Navigation, and Sirius/XM Radio. Also installed is a VIP tilt/telescoping smart steering wheel, a Pillowtop king-size bed with Tilt-A-View inclining mechanism, powered drop-down hide-away bunk bed, Whisper Air central cooling system, and leatherette adjustable captain’s chairs.
