Thor Motor Coach 2020 Aria Class A Motorhome Highlights

Thor Motor Coach recently unveiled a lengthy list of upgrades for its 2020 model year Class A motorhomes, Class C RVs, and toy haulers. Across the board, each will come factory-equipped with the Winegard ConnecT 2.0 4G LTE router and Wi-Fi extender for wireless broadband connectivity.

A particular Thor model getting a facelift is the Aria, a Class A Diesel model. For its 2020 iteration, it’s getting all-new, full-body paint packages with gel-coat sidewalls. There are now four options called Fire Island II, Matrix, Stargate, and Tidal Wave.

Luxury For Up To Seven

The Aria’s five floorplans—the 3401, 3601, 3901, 3902, and 4000—offer from 5 to 7 sleeping berths. Overall length of the units varies from 34 feet, 7 inches (10.5 meters) to 40 feet, 11 inches (12.5 meters).

The three color palettes for the interior décor are named Obsidian, Pebble Ridge, and Skyline, while the high-gloss, glazed cabinetry options available are called Amherst and Pacific. Polished porcelain tile flooring adds a stately air, while the 84-inch (2.1-meter) ceiling is lighted by LEDs.

The Aria comes with a Denver Mattress king-sized bed with tilt-a-view inclining bed mechanism, USB charging ports in the nightstands, and a leatherette Dream Dinette booth. Depending on the floorplan and the options you choose, it may also have a sofa bed, reclining theater seats, or both. Some models include an electric fireplace with remote, but all come with a stacking washer and dryer.

The Aria’s oversized, full-height shower has a skylight and a glass door, and the 4000 floorplan even comes with a second full-height shower/tub combo. In the kitchen there’s a residential refrigerator, a convection microwave, and a double-bowl sink—all stainless steel—along with solid-surface countertops and an electric induction cooktop.

Underpinning The Aria

The Aria is built on the Freightliner XC-R Raised Rail Chassis with Atlas Foundation, air ride, and an exhaust brake. Its 6.7-liter Cummins ISB-XT diesel engine produces 360 horsepower (268 kilowatts) and 800 pounds-feet (1,085 newton meters) of torque. Out back is a 10,000-pound (4,536-kilogram) trailer hitch with a 7-pin round connector.

The leatherette captain’s chair is power-adjustable, and a power windshield privacy shade and an 8-inch touchscreen dash radio with Bluetooth, navigation, and Sirius/XM come standard. The chrome power side mirrors are heated and have integrated side-view cameras, while a three-camera system augments the back-up monitor.

As for the Aria’s multiple LED TVs, the interior and exterior screens range from 15-inch bunk bed DVD combos all the way up to 55-inch living-area units. Sony Blu-ray players and a JBL Bluetooth sound bar round out the home theater setup.

Outside, the Aria boasts 125 to 240 cubic feet (3.5 to 6.8 cubic meters) of lighted cargo space, including basement pass-through storage. Other perks include an outdoor shower, 12- to 20-foot (3.7- to 6.1-meter) power lateral arm awnings with integrated LED lighting, and slide-out room topper awnings.
