Airstream Expands Globetrotter Travel Trailer Lineup

Airstream has added two floor plans to its Globetrotter travel trailer lineup. Both the new 23FB and 23FB Twin configurations start at $93,900, measure 23.75 feet (7.24 meters) long, sleep four, and travel on two axles. While the 23FB includes a queen bed measuring 60 inches wide by 75 inches long (152.4 x 190.5 centimeters), the 23FB Twin includes two twin beds each measuring 34 inches x 80 inches (86.36 x 203.2 centimeters). Airstream indicates it plans to reveal more “all-new products, big new features, new tech, and more” in the coming weeks as part of its 2020 lineup.

“High Style”

The Globetrotter model’s origins date to 1948 when Airstream founder Wally Byam and friend Cornelius Vanderbilt painted “Globe Trotters” on an early Airstream trailer. Handcrafted and built in Jackson Center, Ohio, modern Globetrotters capture “the spirit of adventure and the tradition of European design,” Airstream says. Other Globetrotter configurations include 25-foot (7.62-meter) 25FB and 25FB Twin and 27-foot (8.23-meter) 27FB and 27FB Twin models that sleep six and have starting prices ranging from $104,400 to $111,400.

All Globetrotter models feature an aluminum-constructed aerodynamic exterior. Although the 23FB and 23FB Twin are smaller and easier to tow than their counterparts, they’re “just as high style,” Airstream says. Elsewhere, while the 23FB Twin’s twin mattresses are created specially to “perfectly nestle” into the trailer’s curves, they leave space for a center nightstand.

Get To Trotting

With an interior measuring 7.6 feet (2.31 meters) wide and 6.625 feet (2.02 meters) high, the 23FB and 23FB Twin have a maximum trailer capacity of 6,300 pounds (2,857.63 kilograms). Features include a three-way refrigerator, a liquid propane gas oven, 12 interior windows and skylights, cable and satellite television hookups, an exterior grill connection, an exterior hot and cold shower, and a bathroom that spans the trailer’s entire rear. Elsewhere, the kitchen features a stainless-steel sink and counter space, while the four-person dinette converts to extra sleep space.
