A Closer Look At The Airstream Classic

Airstream is an RV manufacturer that never forgets its roots even as it continues to innovate to keep up with customer desires. In fact, the company recently won a New Horizons award at RVX: The RV Experience in Salt Lake City, Utah, for its Classic Smart Trailer. Airstream’s Smart Control technology is available standard with the award-winning model or as an optional add-on via Airstream’s Connected kit and app for all Airstream models. This technology gives RV owners the ability to turn lights on and off, open and close the awning, control air conditioning and heating, and more.

Even with all of the modern amenities and creature comforts, the Classic travel trailer harkens back to a golden age when road trips were king. It marries Airstream’s trademark “silver bullet” exterior design with the updated interiors that RV owners expect today.

Options Galore

Airstream bills the Classic travel trailer as an RV for “longer trips or full-time living,” which is evidenced by the four spacious floor plans. There are two 30-foot (9.1-meter) and two 33-foot (10.1 meter) models, all of which can sleep up to five people and have options for either one queen-size or two twin beds. If you opt for the larger 33-foot model, you do get access to some enhanced features, including a 60-inch (152.4-centimer) HD projection TV with Bose sound bar, powered shades, porcelain toilet with macerator, and a workstation with leather desk chair.

Interior Highlights

While the exterior of the Classic says “traditional,” the interior is all about modern luxuries. The kitchen, for example, features hardwood cabinets, Dupont Corian countertops, a three-burner stainless steel gas stove with glass top, convection microwave oven, Beraldi cooking vent, and 9-cubic-foot (0.25-cubic-meter) refrigerator. The spacious bathroom has a large shower and vanity, heated shower floor and towel bar, and double-door wardrobe with mirrors. Other features include an adjustable queen bed, Polk stereo, powered convertible dinette, Quietstream climate control, and much more.
