Airstream Wins RVX New Horizon Award For Its Classic Smart Trailer

Airstream recently won the New Horizon award for its Classic Smart Trailer at this year’s RVX: The RV Experience show in Salt Lake City, Utah. The company revealed the trailer, as well as its Smart Control Technology, on the main stage of the event. Airstream previously announced a new connected kit and complementary application that adds connectivity features to all Airstream models, and Smart Control Technology follows in those footsteps to give Classic owners control over various aspects of their motorhomes no matter where they are.

Smart Control Technology

This new technology is designed specifically for the Airstream Classic travel trailer and lets owners interact with and monitor their motorhomes using a mobile application. With Smart Control Technology, you can turn lights on and off, open and close your awning, and control air conditioning or heating. Other features include an RV locator, propane tank and water tank monitoring, battery monitoring, power shade controls, vent fan controls, and direct access to Airstream customer service. You can also use the app to make a checklist before you leave for a trip so you don’t forget anything.

In addition to the Classic Smart Trailer, Airstream displayed other RV models at the show, including the Atlas class B+ motorhome, the Interstate Lounge class B motorhome, and the Nest, Globetrotter, and International Serenity travel trailers. They also brought along the Basecamp X, a compact unit designed for handling rugged roads.
