Keystone’s Exclusive Omni-Chill Air Conditioner System Beats The Heat

As RV manufacturer Keystone RV Company pointed out recently, RV technology has come a long way over the years, and nowhere is that more apparent than in the air conditioning units used to keep RVs cool and comfortable inside. Keystone, however, says its exclusive Omni-Chill AC system solves a prominent issue owners have historically encountered in this area: the inability to run all three of an air conditioning system’s units simultaneously.

A Triple Attack

Keystone RV Company credits a technical partnership with Dometic as having brought about the Omni-Chill system that’s now available in Keystone’s Raptor and Fuzion lines of Key Performance RVs. Dometic is a global manufacturer of various products, including air conditioning systems for RVs. Unlike any other systems on the market, Keystone says, Omni-Chill enables owners to run three air conditioner units at once, a trait that provides an RV with 35 percent more cooling power. “Other RVs may have three ACs in the unit, but before now, only two ACs could function at any given time,” the company claims.

Keystone says lab tests indicate the Omni-Chill can bring the temperature inside a fifth-wheel toy hauler down 8 degrees lower than conventional air conditioning systems while consuming less energy. Whereas running two air conditioner units consumes about 20 amps each and a standard RV allows for 50 amps total, Keystone says the Omni-Chill runs three units together at roughly 32 amps total, leaving “plenty of power for your other appliances and devices.”

“A Huge Selling Feature”

Keystone began offering the Omni-Chill system in Fuzion models last year, and the Raptor lineup added the system this year. Implementations place two units in the RV’s main living area and one in the garage to create a balanced circulation, says Keystone, which notes that its Key Performance toy hauler models are the only brands “with a 100% vapor barrier between the garage and main cabin.” That keeps gas and fumes from entering duct work and filtering into the main cabin. Jeremiah Dumka, Fuzion product manager, says, “Omni-Chill has been a huge selling feature for us” since its introduction.
