Keystone RV Introduces iN-Command With Global Connect Smart Home System
Keystone RV’s iN-Command smart home system for recreational vehicles, which was first introduced in 2015 in a partnership with ASA Electronics, now features “Global Connect.” While the original system let owners use their smartphones as remote controls in and around their campers, this 2018 update makes it possible for you to keep an eye on and control certain aspects of your camper as long as you have a cellular or Wi-Fi connection.
Ins & Outs
iN-Command with Global Connect uses a Body Control Module (BMC) containing numerous switches, which you can use to control a range of systems in your RV. It also comes with a touchscreen device called the Display Commander, which you can use to adjust settings and control various components while inside the RV. The iN-Command smartphone application (available for iOS and Android devices) essentially mimics the functionality of the Display Commander to give you control over your RV remotely. The system can be used to turn lights on or off, kick start the heater or air conditioner, retract your awning in the event of heavy rain and hail, and much more.
Availability
The first Keystone brand to include iN-Command with Global Connect across all models was the Cougar, but you can also get the system for Alpine, Fuzion, Montana Legacy Edition, and Raptor RVs. “Over the past 20 years, Cougar had earned the reputation as the industry lead in looks, floorplans, and technology,” says Matt Christensen, Cougar product manager. “By making iN-Command with Global Connect a Cougar standard, we continue to build our legacy and give a new generation of RV buyers more reason to choose Cougar.”
