Keystone RV Company Delivers 150,000th Cougar Trailer
Keystone RV Company recently celebrated the production of its 150,000th Cougar fifth-wheel trailer. The recipient of the milestone delivery was Keystone’s largest standalone dealership, Tacoma RV, located in Fife, Washington. Tacoma RV has retailed nearly 3,000 Cougar trailers since it began selling the brand in 2003. In conjunction with the occasion, Keystone cited data that ranks the Cougar as the No. 1 selling mid-profile fifth wheel for 17 straight years.
Customer Input
Keystone Product Manager Matt Christensen says feedback from Cougar owners and dealers has been instrumental in the Cougar line’s ongoing success and in helping determine the features, appearance, and price of Cougar models. “We feel we have the best dealer body in the industry and we take advantage of their market knowledge to help drive the direction of Cougar,” he says. “In addition, many of our customers are repeat Cougar buyers, starting with our smaller Half-Ton trailers and moving up to a Cougar fifth wheel.”
The owner of Tacoma RV, LaDonna Meadows, says the Cougar brand has long been a mainstay of her dealership. “With Half-Ton Cougar fifth wheels, Half-Ton Cougar travel trailers, and full-sized Cougar fifth wheels we can reach over 85% of our potential customers,” she says. “No other single brand can deliver this kind of floorplan choices, options, and price range."
Building On 20
Keystone RV opened its doors in 1996 and is based in Goshen, Indiana. Last year, the company upgraded the entire Cougar lineup to celebrate the brand’s 20thh anniversary. In addition to new floorplans like the 368MBI mid-bunk area with loft, Cougar trailers feature Level Up auto-leveling technology from Lippert Components and the iN-Command With Global Connect RV-automation system from ASA Electronics. The latter features full thermostat control with scheduling abilities via mobile devices, as well as mobile device control of slide rooms, awnings, and light groups.
Cougar trailers are available in numerous packages, including the Camping In Style, Anniversary, Deluxe Entertainment/Technology, and Polar Package Plus options. Besides fifth wheels, Keystone produces travel trailers, toy haulers, and destination trailers with prices ranging from roughly $16,700 to $94,200. If you’re in the market for a Keystone trailer, you’ll find numerous pre-owned models for sale on RVUniverse.com.
